I recently talked to an internets friend on the phone. She lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She made mention of us hanging out if I ever got up to her neck of the woods. So I go over to google maps… and this comes up:

First of all, what’s up with North Dakota? I think google maps is trying to tell me something
I get frustrated because I don’t take any road trips anymore. Even though I owned a motorcycle in my youth, I’m not a big fan of them. But I’m seriously thinking of buying one so I can make road trips without a huge cost of gas and mileage on a car (you can pick up a smaller cc bike for under $2000 usd that gets 60 -70 mpg).
Three people in my life, are family to me… but they’re not! Confused? Most of the readers of this blog aren’t, because they know the isolation and the rejection that most GLBT people feel at some point in their queer experience. If you don’t have accepting people in your life, you find and connect with others that do accept and love you. With that explanation I’d like to introduce you to my chosen family.
Ethan St. Pierre
My chosen brother, Ethan has been through just about every trial I’ve gone through. He truly is the best friend I’ve ever had. He is my rock, my fellow activist, and the person who I trust more than anyone else in the world. He’s proven his love for me in action, and words. I’m grateful that he’s a part of my family.
Jennifer Perdue aka “Peg Leg Hooker”

This bitch has met Ron Jeremy in his hotel room, trolloped with me through graveyards and abandoned insane asylums, and had midnight discussions at the IHOP at 16th and Meridian. She’s someone that’s always stood by me no matter what. We’ve gone through so much crap together, she’s seen sides of me that no one else has (or probably wants to). I could never stop being friends with Jennifer, she knows where I buried the bodies!!!!!
Aida

Aida’s my spiritual twin. We connect in a way that I’ve never connected with another human. Many times we go through quite similar phases or feelings, without knowing it! She’s actually the genesis of this post. She made a comment about me feeling like a sister. That feeling is 100 percent mutual. I don’t know what connects us, but I trust in it 100 percent.
Through the years, I’ve had quite a few people come and go in my life. These three people have been there solidly for me. Ethan, Jennifer, and Aida, I love you. You ARE my family. I’m blessed to have you in my life.
P.S. In a bit of synchronicity, I had my mp3 player on random and a song that came on fit my feelings perfectly.
Weezer - My Best Friend
When everything is wrong I’ll come talk to you
You make things alright when I’m feeling blue
You are such a blessing and I wont be messing
With the one thing that brings light to all of my darkness
You’re my best friend
and I love you, and I love you
Yes I do
There is no other one who can take your place
I feel happy inside when I see your face
I hope you believe me
Cause I speak sincerely
and I mean it when I tell you that I need you
You’re my best friend
and I love you, and I love you
Yes I do
I’m here right beside you
I will never leave you
and I feel the pain you feel when you start crying
You’re my best friend
and I love you, and I love you
Yes I do
You’re my best friend
and I love you, and I love you
Yes I do
Yes I do…
Yes I do
Well, this Thanksgiving was a joy. I spent it all with my best friend in the entire world, Jennifer. She came over and picked me up and we took these pics before we even drove away…

After sleeping most of Saturday, I didn’t feel much like primping to go out in femme. I will be glad when I don’t have to wear a bunch of makeup just to appear feminine. That is exactly the reason why losing weight and getting laser is top on my goals for the near future.
Anyhow, we went to the AlleyCat, my favorite straight bar.
I love taking pics!

Some bar ambiance……

Good times, good spirits, and good music! Yes, they were singing!

On Sunday and I went to the alley behind the AlleyCat. Most of the walls around the alleycat are filled with graffitti. We took many pics!

We then went to the Lilly House and took pics there….

We then went to the Graveyard across from the Lilly House. This isn’t just any graveyard, it’s Crown Hill Cemetery. President Benjamin Harrison, Colonel Eli Lilly, 11 Indiana Governors, 1 Kentucky Governor, 14 Indiana Mayors, 13 Civil War Generals, poet James Whitcomb Riley, author Booth Tarkington, automobile manufacturer Frederick Duesenberg, and the infamous bank robber John Dillinger are all buried at Crown Hill.
Party on Wayne!

Me knocking on death’s door.

I love this pic of Jennifer.

I love how my hair looks in this pic

Jennifer and I say… “ya……righhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht!”

Just add this one because both Mae and I look possessed!

All in all, it was a great weekend!

What a weekend! It’s not even over and I have had a BLAST! Saturday afternoon I went to an Indyboyz meeting. What is Indyboyz? Their site states that “Indy Boyz is a peer-led social/support group for female-to-male transgendered people (FTMs) in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. The group welcomes persons assigned female at birth or raised as female who are exploring more masculine or male gender identities. We also welcome friends, family, significant others, and allies of FTM-identified persons, including MTFs.” After the meeting some of us went to “Aristocrats” for dinner. What was doing at dinner?

Lots of good conversation followed.

There were eight of us and they seated us in between two tables of obviously non-queer people. The people directly behind us actually got up and left (i believe, because of our chatter.). I love being in a big group like that and not feeling intimidated.
After dinner we went back to Lori and Bryan’s and went swimming. Actually, I didn’t go swimming. but being at the pool with 6 cute guys…..um…THAT was nice. I don’t know about Lori, but I was in heaven.

Maybe this time next year I can wear a bathing suit without feeling self-conscious. It was a great day and an even better evening.
Sunday I spent time working on two blogs Amanda Simpon (a candidate for Congress in Arizona) and Indiana Stonewall Democrats. Currently I am working on a sound file for Ethan on TransFM a funny ass transgender/comedy web radio show. Pretty busy for a weekend I thought was gonna be boring.
Well, my comments about how gay friendly Indianapolis is, is featured in this months “Intake”. “Intake” is “a publication that is focused on the lifestyle and entertainment issues important to Indy’s 25-34 year-olds.” It “is an independently distributed publication designed to cover the lifestyle, entertainment and news issues important to young professionals living in the metropolitan Indianapolis area.”
So, ya….yippie! They published my comments.

Now, the sexy ass
evanmarshall got a entire piece dedicated to his transition! WAY TO GO!
I was also featured in a “Washington Blade” story about queer bloggers, back when I lived in DC.

Thank you. I honestly don’t know what to say….but thank you! It came at a time I was feeling really down today. Even when you dont plan to, you bring a smile to my face. I really feel blessed to have you in my life. I love you!
