After the election results came in last night many of you have talked about moving out of country. Is running away from your problems really the answer? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not being judgemental. I actually “ran away” from Indiana and lived in DC for a year. While I will always remember my days running around Dupont Circle and Q street with fondness, runing away taught me a very hard, valuable lesson.

While I was in Washington D.C. my ex-wife pulled some legal maneuvers which caused me to essentially lose visitation of my daughter simply because of my transsexuality. What brought me back to Indiana was to fight for my parental rights, but what has kept me here was unexpected.

When I came home I started connecting with folks like Lori and Bryan Sirtosky, Jeff Newman, Jerame Davis and Bil Browning, Chris Douglas, Marla Stevens, and many others within the GLBT community here in Indianapolis. To put it simply, I fell in love with the community here.

At times like this it may seem like all is lost. One night, One year, One election cycle is a battle, not a war. We have time and the youth of this country on our side. Will this war be quick? Will it be easy? No. But rest assured our day shall come. Let us continue to prepare for that day.

“I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.”

Vote!

If you have kids that are teens, it just may….

So if you haven’t heard it enough….get out the vote!

P.S. I’m soooo nervous…. I think I’ve crossed every body part I have for Kerry. ;)

Your Duty

The Bush website proclaims a decisive victory! You be the judge….

CNN:
Kerry: 87%
Bush: 21%
Tie 2%

CBS:
Kerry: 87%
Bush: 22%
Tie: less than 1%

and that bastion of liberalism…

Fox News
Kerry 51%
Bush 48%
Tie: less than 1%

Robert Novak agrees with the Bush team. “President Bush may not have scored a clear-cut victory, but he certainly looked good. In fact, he handled the town hall format with greater skill than Kerry.”

Go Bush! If that’s a victory, I hope those same numbers are final election results come November. :)

Decisive Victory

cnn.gifI sent this e-mail to CNN:

http://www.logcabin.org/logcabin/notice-description.tcl?newsletter_id=918062

I learned from the above URL that you refuse to run a commercial (a very tame commercial that I watched at their website) from the Log Cabin Republicans, yet you continue to run the lies of the “Swift Boat Veterans.” I have decided that I cannot, in good conscience, watch CNN for my news coverage. It’s sad to see CNN follow in the partisan footsteps of Fox News.

Saddened,
Marti Abernathey

If you agree with me, I ask you to go here and tell CNN to “let freedom ring” and air the commercial.

CNN’s Decision

I love Forbiddenpink’s quote about Ronald Reagan’s death. “Let’s honor him by ignoring his death just like he ignored the death of millions of AIDS victims during the 80s.
So, what’s for dinner?”

My thoughts exactly!!!

I am not a big fan of the policies of the Reagan administration. He spoke of smaller government but grew the government to unprecendant levels. His AIDs policy…oh wait, never mind, he didn’t HAVE an AIDs policy. Really the only thing I will give him credit for was the arms race that brought a swift end to the USSR. If you want a fiscal conservative as president, you have to look to CLINTON! Bill Clinton supported welfare reform, and actually shrunk the deficits!

I’m sorry, I don’t feel bad for Ronald Reagan or his family; HE WAS FUCKING 93!!!!! He lived a long pampered life, what is there to feel sorry for? Even in his Alzheimer’s he was lucky. He had PRIVATE CARE until the day of his death. Many people with Alzheimer’s sit in nursing homes right now, necrosing till they die. I’m supposed to feel sorry for him? Fuck that.

I was gonna go mourn the passing of Ronnie, but I think I have to go do my nails, or wash my hair. Better even still, maybe I’ll just go mourn those that died from 1982-1988 from AIDs.
